Huckleberry Catering – Huckleberry Bakery & Café, like the other restaurants in our group, is owned and operated by Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan. Josh and Zoe fell in love while working together at a nearby restaurant, Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and Seasonal Kitchen. Both are local products, born and raised in Santa Monica. Both have long shared the vision of opening a local, artisan bakery and cafe where friends, family and passionate foodies can gather to enjoy delicious food in a warm, casual atmosphere.
Zoe learned to bake at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco and also worked in the kitchens of Lupa in New York and Joe’s in Venice. He took what he knew and created a menu that was both sweet and savory. Having learned operations by working at local restaurants such as Capo and Broadway Deli, Josh used his knowledge to help Zoya create a space to showcase her talent and creativity. Josh and Zoe tested Huckeberry for 6 months in 2008 when they hosted a Saturday morning brunch in Rustic Canyon. It was a hit with people lining up at the door to get Zoe’s morning buns. From there, they decided to open Huckleberry across from Rustic Canyon.

Since opening in 2009, Huckleberry has grown! The culinary team now boasts Chef Matt Turnquist, who collaborates with Zoe in maintaining Huckleberry’s delicious menu full of farm-fresh options. Laurel Almerinda, pastry chef, also collaborates with Zoe to keep Huckleberry’s pastry cases bursting with seasonal, fresh and fun treats. The goal of the entire staff at Huckleberry is to make you feel welcome and nurtured every time you visit Huckleberry.

All products offered at Huckleberry are made on site using the finest quality ingredients, including organic flour and pantry staples, Valrhona chocolate and farmers market produce. The menu is constantly changing depending on the season and the wishes of the culinary team. Huckleberry also offers a variety of catering services, from everyday office orders to off-site private parties and a serious Thanksgiving offering.
