What most people don’t know is that Golden Corral’s owner, Jason Diebler, has built one of the best food teams in the area. A secret the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes have known for a long time, as they make Golden Corral their “go-to” catering company for most of their events.
“The thing about Jason is, I think he’d rather lose a dollar than mistreat anybody, and in Indian Country, that’s a big thing because we’re in a lot and you’re always suspicious, and when you show up is someone like Jason who gives up. a free meal because something went wrong, that’s someone you love doing business with and would recommend to anyone,” said Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Lieutenant Governor Gib Miles.
Diebler spent more than 15 years with Golden Corral, headquartered in Raleigh, NC. He purchased the Oklahoma City location in 2015 and recently purchased the Golden Corral restaurant in Shawnee, Okla.
“A lot of people don’t realize that some Golden Corrals serve, even though we’ve been doing a lot of heavy food for the last four years, especially with the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes,” Diebler said.

And they are one of the Golden Corals that caters. Diebler said one of his goals was to build one of the best food teams in the state, and he feels he accomplished that goal and continues to build on it.
With current news articles about the contribution of Oklahoma tribes to Oklahoma’s economy, Diebler said he has experienced firsthand the economic impact of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes.
“Economically, tribes have played a big role in my business and my success,” Diebler said. “Golden Corral holds an annual convention every year, and last year this store came in number one at the convention, and I attribute a lot of that award to the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes.”
Diebler is a native of Shawnee, Okla., where she was born and raised in Harrah before returning to Shawnee after high school. Now 38, he said it was a scary move to become the owner and operator of the Oklahoma City location five years ago, but it’s been very rewarding.

“I started as an hourly manager and worked my way up and in 2011 I became the general manager of this store in Oklahoma City. A year later, the company offers you a partner position with a $25,000 buyout, but what’s cool is that they raise you to pay off the loan for $25,000, so you don’t really have any money. Diebler said. “It was nostalgic to buy the Shawnee store where I first started.”
Diebler said he believes trust is the most important aspect of his relationships with tribes and all of his clients… trust and the driving force in his life, God.
“The whole quality of my life has changed since I got saved, and with all the success I’ve had with the tribes, I feel like it’s all God-given, and that continues to be my driving force,” Diebler said.
From large parties to private events, Diebler said he hopes other tribes and businesses will hear about his excellent catering team and give him the opportunity to cater their next event.

“Jason always sends more than enough food and he understands Indians. He learned that the most important part of food for us is to have enough food to fill the boxes,” Lt. Gov. Miles said with a laugh. “If I had a conversation with the leaders of other tribes, it would not be an ordinary conversation with leaders, it would be a conversation between Indians, and I would say: People.’”
