In early 2006, after spending some time in Northeast Ohio’s top restaurants, Bebenroth founded Spice of Life Catering Co. (now Spice Catering Co.) and is committed to providing quality, seasonal food from the best local partners.
In 2012, as distribution systems improved between local farms and restaurants, Bebenroth opened the popular Cleveland restaurant, Spice Kitchen + Bar. In 2014, he acquired Spice Acres, a 13-acre Countryside Conservancy farm in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, to grow food to feed customers and restaurant guests. In 2016, he and his wife Jackie founded a non-profit organization, Spice Field Kitchen, which provides education and outreach to students and individuals seeking to learn more about farming and cooking.
Ben has spent most of his decade-long career building relationships with local producers to understand how to match customer demand with seasonal supply. This knowledge, along with his proven food skills and farming experience, make him one of the most sought-after local food authorities in Northeast Ohio.
Prior to joining Spice, Danielle held executive leadership positions in a variety of industries – from manufacturing to wine distribution – with a focus on operational strategy, structure and growth. Exuding an effective and inspiring leadership style, Danielle received a Rising Star award as CEO of a Cleveland manufacturing company. He knows that growth is only possible in an organization dedicated to visionary leadership, leadership and a culture that empowers teams to work toward a common goal.

Jonathan “JB” joined The Spice Hospitality Group as its Executive Chef in October 2020. His professional chops are best known for his time as Vice President and Executive Chef of Red Restaurant Group. and Director of Project Development at Hyde Park Restaurant Group.
Born and raised on a working farm in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, JB first took up cooking as a child of parents who worked long hours and late hours, and again, because of the growing appetite. At age 13, he got his first taste of the restaurant business, and by 16, he was working in the kitchen of a Pinehurst country club. JB attended the American Museum of Fame for his formal culinary education and brought his expertise in classics and recipes when he landed in Cleveland in 1997, marking the beginning of what will have a lasting impact on the local restaurant community.
Bennett brings the right to gram to menu development and a depth of industry knowledge that comes from opening seventeen restaurants over the course of his career. He is the ‘glue’ of the Spice leadership team as he has accelerated significant growth, guiding decisions with data and experiential knowledge and delivering flexibility with his musical talent. Jess Edmonds has nearly two decades in the food and beverage industry, honing her service skills at Cleveland hot spots before joining Spice Catering Co. she combined her book knowledge and hospitality skills acquired to plan weddings, benefits, and gourmet meals for groups of up to 500. In 2015 she moved into the position of Creative Director and manages an Event Planning team that creates unique dining experiences across the city. . Ashley has been a proud member of the Spice team for over 8 years. She began her time at Spice as a food server, worked her way up to event captain, and eventually joined as a full-time Event Coordinator. Ashley earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Kent State University, followed by a certificate in event planning from Tri-C. Her love of cooking and gardening fueled her passion for Spice’s mission to discover time and place. Outside of project planning with the best team in town, Ashley enjoys spending her free time with her husband and baby son Waylon, practicing her garden, and playing with her four (yes, FOUR) cats.
David spent more than ten years in food management learning different techniques and methods from top leaders before joining the Spice team in 2022. Nicole was born in Cleveland and has 20+ years in the Food and Beverage industry. She attended Old Dominion University in Virginia with a major in Psychology and became a certified Wedding and Event Planner in 2010. With a passion for creating magic . Nicole has successfully helped plan and officiate over 5,000 weddings in her career and thousands of social and corporate events from 5 to 10,000 guests. Attention to detail and excellence in fast-paced environments, he thrives under pressure and meets customer expectations. Nicole’s easy-going nature allows her to create experiences that bring people together with amazing food, beautiful designs, and impeccable service. When she’s not doing events, you can find Nicole on the sidelines cheering on her daughter for lacrosse and zening off the trail on nature hikes.
