Co-Founders Kristen Bailey and Anton Gaffney purposely started the business in their own neighborhood, setting up their tent in the Mt. Washington Creamy Whipon weekend, before getting a permanent home at the Cincinnati Patriot Center. After graduating from MORTAR Entrepreneurship Academy in December 2015, Kristen Bailey successfully funded a Kiva Loan for a down payment on custom-built SDG BBQ food trailers and launched on March 12, 2016. She still works full time in the corporate world and works in businesses during the night and weekend. Anton continues to lead the team with a staff of mostly volunteer friends and family, as well as culinary interns from the Cincinnati Job Corps.
